Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis has insisted that Argentine striker Gonzalo Higuain is 'not for sale'.
The 27-year-old had been linked with a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool and Arsenal thought to be at the front of the queue for his signature.
However, De Laurentiis is adamant that Higuain will not be leaving Italy.
"I have no intention of selling Higuain," he told Sky Sports News.
"We are strengthening the team and will buy other reinforcements. We have to do this in a methodical manner, not by chance.
"If we can't find the right ones in January, we'll get them in June. I know we must reinforce the midfield and the defence."
Higuain has scored 27 goals in 51 games for Napoli since completing a move from Real Madrid in July 2013.
