Napoli have completed a deal for Fiorentina's Valon Behrami and Alessandro Gamberini for an undisclosed fee.
Ex-West Ham United midfielder Behrami enjoyed a successful 18 months at Fiorentina and is a Swiss international.
Gamberini was club captain in Florence and has won eight caps for Italy.
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis spoke of his delight at the deal. He said: "Gamberini and Behrami are two players that I believe the Neapolitans can identify with, also for their human values.
"The two boys have made an extraordinary impression on me, having already begun to get to know them in recent weeks. They are two good guys and have great human qualities."
Napoli's double signing represents the first step in re-building after losing Ezequiel Lavezzi to Paris Saint-Germain.
