Serie A giants Napoli are preparing an £18m bid for Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, according to reports.

Serie A giants Napoli have prepared a bid for Newcastle United striker Aleksandar Mitrovic, according to reports.

The 22-year-old signed for the Magpies in the summer of 2015 from Anderlecht in a £13m deal and has since become a fan favourite at Tyneside.

According to The Mirror, the Partenopei are desperate to bring in a replacement for Arkadiusz Milik, who is out long-term with a knee ligament injury.

As a result, they have reportedly earmarked the Serbia international to spearhead their attack and are looking to bid £18m for the fiery forward.

Mitrovic has scored 14 goals in 45 appearances for Newcastle.
