Veteran French defender Anthony Reveillere reportedly flew to Italy yesterday for further talks and a medical with Napoli as he closes in on a short-term switch to Serie A.
Reveillere has been without a club since ending a successful 10-year spell with Lyon last summer, despite the former Les Bleus international being liked with Premier League teams including Cardiff City.
Napoli boss Rafael Benitez has flown the full-back to Rome as he seeks short-term cover following injuries to Miguel Angel Britos, Juan Camilo Zungia and Giandomenico Mesto, according to Sky Sport Italia.
The 33-year-old is thought to have undergone a medical in Rome last night ahead of signing a potential six-month contract, with Napoli club doctors keen to assess a knee injury before sanctioning any deal.
As a free agent Reveillere would be available for selection as soon he signs a contract with Napoli.
