Newcastle United striker Ayoze Perez has revealed that he chatted to Chelsea winger Pedro last weekend and believes that he is a "great person."
Both players were born on the Spanish island of Tenerife and Perez said that the two spoke as they swapped shirts after the 2-2 draw at St James' Park.
The 22-year-old told the Chronicle Live: "It was a great pleasure to play with someone as great as Pedro. After the match we talked about his adaptation to England and how we would help each other. We changed shirts and we hugged. He is a great person."
The Spaniard also admitted his delight that he is playing for the Magpies again after starting the season on the bench.
Perez added: "I expected more participation in the first games, but the beginning of the season was complicated. New signings arrived and a different coach. Now it seems that the work is paying off. I feel pretty good, very close to 100%."
The Spanish Under-21 international has scored eight goals in 41 league appearances since joining Newcastle in 2014.
