Reports have suggested that Graham Carr is considering his position as chief scout at Newcastle United following the departure of Derek Llambias.
According to The Independent, the 68-year-old is believed to be deciding whether to follow the former director of football out of the door after new incumbent Joe Kinnear scrapped a deal for FC Twente defender Douglas.
Carr, who was given an eight-year contract along with manager Alan Pardew last season, has played an influential role in bringing a raft of players from the French league to St James' Park over the past two years.
Meanwhile, Pardew has confirmed that he will be staying with the Magpies following the arrival of Kinnear.
