Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has confirmed that he will not be leaving the club following the appointment of Joe Kinnear as director of football.
Pardew's future had been called into doubt after it was revealed that Kinnear would oversee transfer dealings at St James' Park under his new role.
"I'm staying to lead United back up the Premier League table," the 51-year-old told The Chronicle.
While Pardew has announced his intention to stay at Newcastle, it was confirmed on Wednesday that Derek Llambias had resigned from his role as managing director.
