Jonas Gutierrez has said that Newcastle deserve a top-four finish this season after an impressive start to the Premier League.

The Toon remain unbeaten in eight games after drawing 2-2 with Tottenham on Sunday.

"We are trying to play good football and keep the ball," Gutierrez said. "It will be hard to stay in the top four, we know that. There are a lot of good teams but we deserve to be fourth.

"Nobody has beaten us yet this season so we deserve it and next weekend we have a great opportunity to take three more points."

Newcastle take on 19th-placed Wigan on Saturday.
