Brentford regained the lead in the 28th minute through Yoane Wissa, who found the back of the net with a brilliant effort, but it was 2-2 just four minutes later, as Harvey Barnes fired into the bottom corner after being found by Murphy.

Barnes had given the ball away to Wissa for Brentford's second, but it was a quick-fire response from the Newcastle forward, and a pulsating opening 45 minutes in West London finished all square at 2-2.

Brentford were back ahead in the 56th minute, as a long free kick from their goalkeeper Mark Flekken reached Collins, with the defender expertly finishing into the bottom corner of the net.

Schade then made sure of the points in the final stages by converting from inside the box after smart work from man-of-the-match Mbeumo, with Brentford winning the six-goal thriller to climb into sixth, now just four points off the Champions League positions.
