Newcastle United have reportedly agreed a fee with Borussia Dortmund for the signature of Mikel Merino.
The ball-playing midfielder only joined the Bundesliga outfit last year from Osasuna, but it is believed that the Spaniard has struggled to settle into life in Germany.
According to The Telegraph, the Magpies have been working on a deal for several weeks after learning that Merino is not 100% happy in Dortmund.
It is understood that the 21-year-old, who made seven appearances for the German club last season, will now head to Newcastle to discuss personal terms.
Dortmund were initially only open to a loan move, but have been persuaded to sell.
