Newcastle United are reportedly considering launching a bid for Ipswich Town defender Tyrone Mings.
The 22-year-old is said to have attracted the Magpies' interest last season after they sent scouts to watch the player in action during the second half of the Championship campaign.
According to The Chronicle, the Tractor Boys are holding out for a bid in the region of £10m for Mings, who is said to have had numerous England scouts monitoring him.
Meanwhile, reports have claimed that Newcastle, who appointed Steve McClaren as the club's new head coach last week, are pondering a bid for Yohan Cabaye, who left the club 18 months ago for Paris Saint-Germain.
