Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew is reportedly interested in signing AZ Alkmaar youngster Adam Maher.

Newcastle United boss Alan Pardew has reportedly targeted AZ Alkmaar midfielder Adam Mayer as a possible summer acquisition.

The 18-year-old has drawn attention since breaking into the club's first team in 2010, and is regarded as one of the most talented individuals in the Eredivisie.

According to The Independent, Pardew could move for Maher to replace Magpies midfielder Cheik Tiote, who has been linked with a move to Chelsea.

Newcastle face West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Sunday.
