Newcastle United have reportedly set their sights on Burnley centre-back James Tarkowski ahead of a possible January move.
Following the Saudi consortium's successful takeover of the Magpies on Thursday, rumours have quickly started to swirl around possible incoming at St. James' Park, with the English defender now being identified as a prime target.
According to the Daily Mail, the 28-year-old is set to become one of the first arrivals under the new ownership, with Tarkowski reportedly keen to depart Turf Moor.
The English defender sees his contract at the Clarets expire in the summer and is yet to agree a new deal, making him free to discuss pre-contract terms with other clubs in January.
Since arriving from Brentford in 2016, Tarkowski has turned out 190 times for the Lancashire outfit, including 166 appearances in the Premier League as Sean Dyche's men continued to consolidate their top-flight status.
