Newcastle United are close to signing Northampton Town striker Ivan Toney, according to reports.
The 19-year-old scored 10 goals for the Cobblers last season, and was left out of their pre-season friendly victory over Brackley on Saturday due to transfer speculation.
"There are quite a lot of things that have got to happen for a player to be transferred," Northampton manager Chris Wilder told BBC Sport.
"That'll progress in its time, and if it does then we'll deal with it.
"I can't speculate what's going to happen apart from the immediate speculation. I'll know more soon."
Another unnamed Premier League club is reportedly also interested in signing Toney.
