Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is confident that defender Fabricio Coloccini will sign a new contract with the club.
The Argentine's current deal expires at the end of the season, but the Magpies boss believes that the club can tempt their best players to stay due to their strong start to the season.
"It's about Fabricio and if he agrees to the contract then all well and good," Pardew told BBC Newcastle.
"We feel we can get the deal done - the more success we have the more chance we have of a player saying 'I'll stay'.
"We're ok, that's the only sign I can give you, because there are two parties here."
United, who are currently in fourth place in the Premier League table after an unbeaten start to the season, host Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
