Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew is reportedly considering a move for free agent Steve Sidwell this summer.
The out-of-contract Fulham midfielder played under Pardew at Reading a decade ago and, according to The Mirror, the Magpies boss sees a possible reunion as a bargain.
However, the report goes on to claim that Stoke City boss Mark Hughes - who also knows the 31-year-old from his time with the Cottagers - is also keen on the former Arsenal youth.
Earlier this month, the player himself revealed that he was unsure as to whether or not he would be offered an extension by the Championship-bound club.
