Davide Santon has revealed that he will not be leaving Newcastle United amid reported interest from Italy.
The 21-year-old Italian helped the Magpies reach fifth in the Premier League table last season following a summer transfer from Inter Milan.
Despite talk of a move to Roma, the full-back is happy with his surroundings in England.
"I know Roma are looking for a right-back and they showed interest in me some time ago, but Newcastle immediately refused to give me up," he told calciomercato.com.
"That's okay for me because I have familiarised myself in England and I have no plans to move. I've only been here for a year and it is too early to pack up and come back to Italy."
Newcastle start the new Premier League season at home to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, August 18.
