West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble has insisted that there are plenty of positives to take out of the team's opening-day defeat to Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League.
Noble missed a penalty for the Hammers at Upton Park on Saturday before Eric Dier's late goal earned Spurs a 1-0 win.
Despite starting their campaign with a disappointing result, Noble believes that the players can take confidence from their performance.
"At the end of the day, we lost the game and I hate losing but the positives we can take from the game are major," he told the club's official website.
"We know that if we play like that we're going to win more than we lose. To lose in the last minute is devastating, but as much as we didn't get the result we know we got the performance."
West Ham are back in action this Saturday when they face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park in the Premier League.
