Evian TG surrendered a lead before coming back to draw 2-2 against Nice at the Allianz Riviera in Ligue 1 this evening.
The game began with controversy as Nice keeper Simon Pouplin was adjudged to have brought down Evian's Clarck N'Sikulu inside the box, only for Daniel Wass to see his penalty saved by the Evian stopper.
In spite of the miss, the visitors continued to push for an opener and they found it in the 18th minute as Dany Nounkeu headed in from close range from a Wass free kick.
Evian thought that they would be taking a lead into the interval, but Alexy Bosetti latched onto Said Benrahma's enterprising through ball to finish beyond Benjamin Leroy.
Nice sensed that a comeback was on the cards and they soon went ahead in the second period through Valentin Eysseric, as he finished neatly from Bosetti's pass in the centre of the Evian box.
It looked as though Nice would hold on for the comeback win, but Kevin Gomis somehow diverted the ball into his own net following Adrien Thomasson's troublesome delivery.
