Sports Mole dissects a four-goal thriller between Norwich City and Swansea City at Carrow Road.

Norwich City took on Swansea City at Carrow Road this afternoon in desperate need of three points to help their fight for Premier League survival.

Swansea were without a win in three games but took the lead through Michu, only for Robert Snodgrass to equalise quickly from close range.

A clever half-volley from Michael Turner gave Norwich a late lead, but they could not hold on to it as Luke Moore earned the visitors a point.

Here, Sports Mole takes a closer look at a chance missed by Chris Hughton's side as they slip closer to the relegation zone.

Match statistics:

Norwich:
Shots 12
On target 9
Possession 49%
Corners 2
Fouls 8

Swansea:
Shots 16
On target 9
Possession 51%
Corners 5
Fouls 16

Was the result fair?

On reflection just about. Swansea may have trailed in the closing stages but certainly did not deserve to be the losing side after contributing much to a frantic encounter. Norwich will probably feel that they should have closed out a big victory after working so hard to earn a narrow advantage in the second half.

Norwich's performance

The home side showed magnificent spirit to fight back after a sloppy start saw them concede the opening goal and possession at will. Norwich looked a constant threat from set pieces and made the most of their physical advantage to force home on two occasions. A late lapse in concentration proved costly with 15 minutes left as the story of the season continues to be draws for the Canaries, who probably need one more win to seal survival.

Swansea's performance

As usual Michael Laudrup's men were slick in possession and showed pace and purpose on the break. A lack of concentration led to both goals and that lack of focus will have definitely annoyed the travelling supporters. Wasteful finishing was also a constant theme after the interval, with the normally clinical Michu spurning three clear-cut chances to finish from close range.

Biggest gaffe

Despite scoring his 17th goal of the season, the award for biggest mistake must go to Michu. Just before stoppage time the prolific Spaniard met a Pablo Hernandez cross unmarked, but could only balloon a wayward strike at least five yards over Lee Camp's goal.

Sports Mole's man of the match

Elliot Bennett: A direct winger with pace to burn, Bennett overshadowed Nathan Dyer and Wayne Routledge by matching forward bursts with quality crosses in the final third. Swansea full-back Ben Davies was led a merry dance as Bennett set up the first goal and remained a positive outlet for the whole match.

Referee's performance

Michael Oliver was largely consistent throughout but perhaps should have awarded Norwich a penalty after Snodgrass was bundled over by Routledge in the box. He also should have at least booked Grant Holt after he went into a challenge on Chico Flores with his studs high.

What's next?

Norwich: Hughton's men face a daunting trip to the Emirates Stadiym to take on Arsenal, who have won their last four games in all competitions.

Swansea: The Swans will get the chance to end an unwanted run of two successive home defeats next weekend when they host Southampton.
