Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has backed Grant Holt to end his goal drought quickly and help fire the Canaries up the table.
Holt has yet to score this season but Hughton believes that his striker's quality will shine through in the coming weeks, starting against Liverpool this weekend.
Hughton told reporters: "He was our top goal scorer last season but he didn't score in the first six games.
"That's what strikers are used to. The best strikers around, the Rooneys, have been through long periods when they haven't scored goals. If your forward players are contributing towards a performance then that's first and foremost.
"If they continue to do that it is only a matter of time before they score goals."
Holt scored 17 goals in his debut season in the Premier League to help Norwich achieve safety with relative ease.
