Norwich City manager Chris Hughton has insisted that he is happy with Johan Elmander's effort levels this season.
Elmander scored his first Premier League goal of the season in the defeat to Southampton last Saturday, and Hughton believes that the club's supporters should not question the striker's work ethic.
"It has been unfortunate for him, whether that is down to poor selection in terms of the decisions you make as an individual during games or also the lack of service," the Canaries manager told members of the media. "Perhaps it is a combination of both.
"I think everybody was delighted that he got off the mark and he deserved it for the work he has put in. One thing he has found difficult is in front of goal but no-one can fault his efforts."
Elmander will be hoping for a spot in the Norwich team against Sunderland on Saturday afternoon.
