Norwich manager Paul Lambert has confirmed that striker James Vaughan will be out for several months with a knee injury.
The 23-year-old hobbled off after coming on as a second-half substitute during the Canaries' 2-1 victory over Sunderland on Monday night.
Tests were carried out on Vaughan, who moved to Carrow Road from Everton in the summer, which confirmed the injury blow.
The frontman also missed the beginning of the season with a similar injury, but the latest setback is to the other knee.
