Norwich City manager Paul Lambert will meet with Aston Villa representatives later today.
Lambert reportedly resigned as manager of the Carrow Road outfit on Wednesday night after a row with the Canaries board.
The fight was sparked when the Norwich hierarchy refused an angry Lambert permission to speak with Villa.
The manager is now expected to take up the vacant managerial post at Villa Park following reports that owner Randy Lerner and chief executive Paul Faulkner have identified him as their first choice.
Lambert took Norwich from League One to the top flight during a three-year spell in charge after moving from Colchester United.
