Norwich City boss Paul Lambert has reportedly refused to discuss new contracts with his players until Premier League survival has been guaranteed.
The Canaries are currently 11th in the Premier League and 14 points clear of the drop zone.
Despite the healthy margin, Norwich midfielder David Fox says that Lambert is still playing it safe.
"I guess we'll all just have to wait and see what the manager decides," Fox said.
"The club has been in a very bad situation in the past money-wise so the manager is not in a position to be handing out big contracts and then we get relegated.
"I am sure people will find out when we are safe. There are others in my situation and we all have to wait and see what the manager wants to do with us."
Norwich travel to Fulham on Saturday as they continue their push to stay in the top flight.
