Victorious Norwich City right-back Steven Whittaker has said that the Canaries "put it right" in the Championship playoff final today after missing out on automatic promotion.
Whittaker played all 90 minutes as Norwich saw off Middlesbrough 2-0 at Wembley to return to the Premier League a year after they were relegated.
Norwich finished the regular season with one win from their final three games to fall short of the top two, and Whittaker feels that they righted their wrongs this afternoon.
"We knew we had to get off to a great start," he told BBC Radio 5 live. "The boys worked their socks off and we deserved it.
"Nothing is easy in this game and we worked hard to achieve it. We knew we had the squad. We were unlucky not to go up automatically. We put it right today."
Next season will be Norwich's eighth in the top flight since the inception of the Premier League.
