Norwich City captain Sebastien Bassong has said that it would be a "disaster" if the club were relegated from the Premier League this season.
The Canaries sit 12th in the table, five points clear of the drop zone having amassed just six victories all season under manager Chris Hughton.
Although Bassong admits that slipping back into the Championship after three seasons in England's top tier would be damaging, the skipper is convinced that the team boast enough quality to retain the club's top-flight status.
He told The Guardian: "Relegation would be a disaster, but I don't think about it. I believe in ourselves and what we are doing."
Hughton's men travel to South Wales for a clash with Cardiff City this afternoon.
