Ryan Bennett has helped Norwich City earn a 1-0 win over Hull City in the Premier League, with the Canaries centre-back scoring in the final minutes at Carrow Road this afternoon.
Ricky van Wolfswinkel looked to create Norwich's first chance on goal as he was played in by Gary Hooper, although the striker's right-footed shot was blocked on its way towards the keeper.
Ahmed Elmohamady appeared menacing for the visitors and he did well to find Liam Rosenior, but he could not get his effort on target as the ball flew wide of the post.
Robert Snodgrass did brilliantly to work his way towards the box as Norwich pushed for the lead, however, his ball was wasted by Van Wolfswinkel, who somehow managed to force his shot wide from only a few yards out.
Snodgrass threatened again as he curled in a ball for Sebastien Bassong, who headed high and wide with the goal gaping as the sides went into the break level.
Bradley Johnson was presented with an inviting opportunity after the interval, but the midfielder could not direct his left-footed shot on target as the ball flew too wide to trouble the keeper.
Nikica Jelavic could have put Hull 1-0 up on his debut had he not flashed his header wide of goal after being accurately picked out by Rosenior's ball into the box.
Snodgrass continued to provide his side with plenty of chances to score and he almost set up Leroy Fer, who saw his header balloon over the bar with only the keeper to beat.
It looked as though the game would end in a draw, with Norwich particularly wasteful, but Bennett turned up in the 87th minute to head home from Snodgrass's cross to earn the hosts a vital victory.
