Cameron Jerome came off the bench to fire Norwich City to a 2-1 victory over Brentford in their final pre-season outing this afternoon.
An eventful start to the contest saw Lewis Grabban beat his man before firing over the bar, and the lively striker was then able to test David Button with a well-taken drive.
Norwich remained on top for large parts of the opening periods, but it took until 18 minutes in before they got off the mark when Wes Hoolahan latched on to Jonny Howson's pass and calmly lobbed Button.
The visitors hit back instantly, though, with Andre Gray making the most of a defensive error to level things up in East Anglia.
Button had to be alert to deny Howson moments later, yet the Championship side were also asking questions of their own, best exemplified by Akaki Gogia striking the post just before the break.
Both Jota and Gray came close to adding the game's third goal, while Martin almost proved the difference for the Canaries up the other end in the opening stages of the second period.
It was substitute Jerome who found the winning goal just four minutes after being brought on, collecting Andre Wisdom's pass and firing beyond Button.
There was a sour note for Alex Neil as summer purchase Youssouf Mulumbu limped off in the final 10 minutes, but the Canaries were able to hold out for victory in their final match before the new Premier League campaign gets underway.
