West Ham United beat Norwich City 1-0 in a pre-season friendly match arranged to celebrate 80 years of Carrow Road.

Harry Toffolo's late own goal proved to be the difference as West Ham United ruined Norwich City's Carrow Road celebration with a 1-0 win this evening.

The match, which was arranged to celebrate 80 years of the Canaries' home ground, got off to a frantic start as Morgan Amalfitano fired narrowly wide with just a minute on the clock.

West Ham continued to see much of the ball in the early stages, but Ryan Bennett was able to test Adrian between the sticks at the end of Gary O'Neil's corner as the home side pushed forward.

Gary Hooper was the next Canaries player to take range, seeing his effort deflect over the bar before Modibo Maiga headed an attempt right at John Ruddy up the other end of the field.

Norwich continued to look strong on the counter and, just moments after Vadis Odjidja-Ofoe's attempt was kept out, Tony Andreu himself saw Adrian come to the rescue.

The best chance of the opening 45 minutes fell the way of the home side, but Ricky Van Wolfswinkel failed to find a way past West Ham's Brazilian stopper when through on goal.

The Dutch forward almost turned home Hooper's cross in the first opening following the restart, while dragging a shot wide soon after when finding himself well placed once again.

A lively contest continued in the same fashion as half-time substitute Nathan Redmond fired over, before Matt Jarvis and Kevin Nolan squandered chances of their own.

Just moments after Enner Valencia and Mauro Zarate had themselves come close, Slaven Bilic's men finally found a way through when Norwich youngster Toffolo turned the ball past his own keeper from a corner to hand the visitors a lead they would not relinquish.
