Nottingham Forest defender Danny Collins has revealed that there is a sense of "disappointment" in the club's dressing room after Sean O'Driscoll was sacked as manager.
O'Driscoll was dismissed despite leading his side to a 4-2 victory over Leeds United earlier in the day to leave Forest just one point from a place in the playoffs, and Collins has admitted that the decision had come as a surprise.
Collins told Sky Sports News: "We're obviously surprised, especially after the result we had to find ourselves a point outside the playoffs.
"To hear the news that the gaffer had gone was obviously a surprise, and we're shocked and disappointed at the same time.
"He popped in to training to clear his stuff and speak to the boys and wish us well for the season - hopefully we'll carry on the work he's brought to the place and get ourselves into the playoffs."
Former Birmingham City manager Alex McLeish is currently favourite to become the next Forest boss.
