Nottingham Forest are said to be confident of tying up a permanent deal for Sunderland's David Vaughan in the current transfer window.
The 30-year-old is currently on loan with Forest until January 29.
According to the Shields Gazette, Forest manager Billy Davies wants to add the midfielder permanently and Sunderland are believed to be willing to let him go as his current contract expires at the end of this season.
