Nottingham Forest are reportedly prepared to make an ambitious effort to sign one of Turkish football's brightest prospects.
Having successfully fended off relegation from the Premier League during the closing weeks of 2023-24, Nuno Espirito Santo's side have been excellent during the opening five matches of this campaign.
As well as remaining unbeaten, Forest have recorded a win over Liverpool at Anfield to help them accumulate nine points from a possible 15.
Furthermore, Forest have conceded just the four goals to sit in ninth position in the standings, already eight points clear of the bottom three.
During the summer transfer window, the East Midlands outfit's hierarchy made some statement additions, such as bringing in Fiorentina defender Nikola Milenkovic and Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.
Forest taking interest in Kilicsoy
According to CaughtOffside, thought is already being given to how they can further strengthen their senior ranks in the January window.
Forest are said to be monitoring the progress of Besiktas attacker Semih Kilicsoy who has already indicated he could become the next star of Turkish football.
Despite only turning 19 years of age in August, a total of 12 goals and six assists have been recorded from 46 outings for the Super Lig giants.
Three of those assists have come from his opening five league appearances this season, on the back of featuring for Turkey at Euro 2024.
Besiktas are in a strong position to retain his services courtesy of a contract being in place until 2028, yet interest appears inevitable given his progression.
Aston Villa could provide competition to Forest having been linked with a move for Kilicsoy during the summer transfer window.
What fee could be required?
The report claims that Villa presented a proposal worth €18m (£15.1m), while it is suggested that Fulham bid a lower €15m (£12.5m) at some point during that particular period.
As it stands, though, it is alleged that Besiktas will only accept offers in the region of €25m (£20.9m) should they arrive in January or next summer. body check tags ::
