Greuther Furth have kept their slim hopes of Bundesliga survival alive with a 1-0 win at Nuremberg.
The only goal of the game came on 26 minutes when Johannes Geis surged forward before smashing in an unstoppable drive from 30 yards.
The hosts thought that they had equalised on the hour mark, but Hanno Balitsch's header was judged to have not crossed the line after coming down off the crossbar.
The victory means that Greuther are now nine points off the relegation playoff place in the Bundesliga table with four games left to play.
