Oldham Athletic manager Dean Holden has hailed his side's 3-0 victory over local rivals Rochdale as "very, very satisfying".
The result marks Holden's first home win in charge of the Latics and is a repeat of the scoreline from when the teams met in League One earlier in the season.
"We knew it would be a good atmosphere come kickoff and it was important we started well, got a foothold in the game and kept the crowd behind us," he told reporters.
"The lads did that with everything we put across before the game with all the rivalry. It's the biggest game the fans look for all season and to win both games 3-0 is very, very satisfying from an Oldham point of view."
Defeat denied eighth-placed Rochdale a place in the playoff positions, while Oldham in 11th are just four points off the top six.
