One of Oldham Athletic's sponsors have severed its ties with the club ahead of the potential arrival of Ched Evans.
It is understood that Oldham will sign the convicted rapist before the weekend.
Thousands of people have signed a petition urging the club not to sign the 26-year-old Welshman, who was released from prison in October after serving half of a five-year sentence for raping a 19-year-old woman in 2011.
However, Verlin Rainwater Solutions, who sponsor a stand at the club's Boundary Park stadium, have now withdrawn their support of Oldham.
A number of sponsors have claimed that they will sever ties with the club should Evans move to Boundary Park, but reports last night suggested that Evans's family were willing to make up any financial difference if the club were to lose money.
