Goals from Nathan Delfouneso and Craig Conway gave Blackburn Rovers a 2-0 win over Oldham Athletic in their pre-season clash this afternoon.
Shortly before kickoff a swarm of bees was discovered surrounding one of the goalposts at SportsDirect.com Park. A beekeeper was called in to remove the bees, allowing the game to begin on time.
Gavin Gunning headed a Mike Jones corner over early on, and Jason Steele was then called into a smart save from Rhys Murphy as the hosts started brightly.
Lee Croft and Joseph Mills both went close with long-range strikes midway through the half, but it remained goalless at the break.
John O'Sullivan tested David Cornell after the restart, before Blackburn went ahead as Delfouneso guided Conway's free kick into the back of the net.
Conway then made sure of the result when he drove into the Oldham box and fired home late on.
