Schalke have qualified for the Champions League knockout stages thanks to a 1-0 victory over Olympiakos.
The hosts took control of the match from the first whistle and could have been ahead after only five minutes, but Klaas-Jan Huntelaar fired his effort over from six yards out.
Minutes later, Lewis Holtby was close to opening the scoring in spectacular fashion when he rattled the crossbar with a powerful long-range strike.
Huntelaar threatened the Olympiakos defence throughout but once again missed the target from inside the box, albeit from a very tight angle.
The Dutch striker's frustrations continued in the second half, testing Roy Carroll with a bullet header from the centre of the box.
Schalke's pressure was finally rewarded with 13 minutes remaining when Christian Fuchs collected a pass from Jermaine Jones before drilling the ball past Carroll to secure qualification for the German side.
