Palermo forward Josip Ilicic has declared that his side can use their recent revival to complete an unlikely escape from the bottom three in Serie A.
The Slovenian forward scored a fine goal this afternoon as Palermo recorded their first away win in 12 months with a 3-1 success at Sampdoria.
Giuseppe Sannino's side have now recorded back-to-back victories for the first time this season, a run that Ilicic believes will help them avoid the drop.
He told Sky Italia: "I have always put the team ahead, we play as a team and we have also demonstrated against Roma last week.
"If we continue like this, we hope to remain in Serie A. All the goals are important, we have to think game by game and we can win as many games as possible.
"How long do we believe? Let's go game by game. If we play well, we can stay in Serie A."
With seven games left Palermo sit 19th in Serie A, but are only in the drop zone on goal difference behind Genoa and Siena.
