Former Newcastle United goalkeeper Jak Alnwick has signed for Port Vale on a free transfer.
The 22-year-old, who made six appearances in the Premier League last season, has signed a short-term contract at Vale Park.
Vale manager Rob Page told the club's website: "In the absence of Chris Neal through injury we felt it was important to bolster our goalkeeping ranks.
"Jak is a very talented player who has experience at the highest level with Newcastle United and he's also had a taste of League One with Bradford.
"We're very pleased to have him on board and the players and coaches are all looking forward to working with him."
Alnwick could make his debut for the club against Crewe Alexandra on Saturday.
