Sean O'Driscoll is the favourite to become the next Portsmouth manager, according to Sky Sports News.
Steve Cotterill left the club earlier this month to join Nottingham Forest.
O'Driscoll was sacked in September by Doncaster Rovers, who replaced the 54-year-old with Dean Saunders.
Guy Whittingham, who is currently the caretaker manager at Fratton Park, oversaw the side's 3-1 defeat at Derby County on Saturday.
