Richie Barker has insisted that while he will look to make changes to his Portsmouth squad in the January transfer window, there will not be wholesale changes at Fratton Park.
The Pompey boss, though, concedes that he is keen to bring in players in order to facilitate a new way of playing at the club and will look at the loan and free transfer markets.
"I will not be primarily looking at the loan market, the transfer window is open so it could be anything," Barker told the Portsmouth News.
"The squad needs to evolve, particularly if I am going to be able to play the game the way I want to play it. We will have to be prepared that sometimes, unfortunately, people change.
"But it's never going to be a massive turnaround."
Pompey face Northampton Town on Sunday.
