Portsmouth boss Guy Whittingham has insisted that Ricky Holmes will be given his chance in the next couple of weeks.
The 26-year-old, who joined the League Two side on a free transfer this summer, has been forced to play second fiddle to Andy Barcham and Jed Wallace thus far this season.
"Barch and Jed are doing well but I know he's dead keen to get in. When people see him for a couple of games they will know we have three players out wide who can attack well," Whittingham told PA.
"There's no real reason why he's been held back. There's three players for two positions so someone has to miss out."
Portsmouth currently sit 11th in League Two.
