Portugal had to come from behind to head into half time level at 1-1 with Group I's bottom side Armenia in their Euro 2016 qualifier this evening.
The home side made a positive start to the match as they continue to look for their first win of the qualifying campaign, with Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Karlen Mkrtchyan both providing crosses which narrowly avoided teammates.
Armenia's early possession resulted in a goal 15 minutes into the tie as the hosts were awarded a free kick after Bruno Alves brought down Marcos Pizzelli, leaving the winger to curl the ball into the top right corner with a 35-yard effort.
Nani quickly tried to get Portugal back on level terms as he chipped a cross into the box, before lofting a second attempt back in a few moments later, but neither resulted in a chance.
Mkhitaryan handed the visitors the equaliser just before the half hour mark when he brought Serge Gumienny down in the box, leaving Cristiano Ronaldo to blast a low penalty into the back of the net.
Mkhitaryan tried to make amends down the other end, sending in a couple of crosses, but he was unable to get the better of the Portuguese defence again before the break.
