How Portugal could line up against Bosnia-Herzegovina

Sports Mole looks at how Portugal could line up in Monday's Euro 2024 qualification clash against Bosnia-Herzegovina.

Portugal head coach Roberto Martinez is expected to shuffle his pack for Monday's Euro 2024 qualification clash with Bosnia-Herzegovina.

The Iberian nation secured their spot at next summer's European Championship courtesy of a 3-2 win over Slovakia on Friday, with Cristiano Ronaldo netting a brace in the contest.

Ronaldo is likely to be one of a number of players to drop out for this fixture, with Joao Felix and Diogo Jota potentially being introduced in the final third of the field.

There could be two changes in a defensive area, with Nelson Semedo and Goncalo Inacio bidding to start, while Vitinha and Ruben Neves could come into the midfield.

There are three uncapped players in the squad, and while goalkeeper Jose Sa is unlikely to be used, there could be minutes for Toti Gomes and Joao Neves.

Pedro Neto will also be aiming to win just his fifth cap following a positive start to the season for Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Bruno Fernandes and Ruben Dias are expected to keep their spots in the side, as Martinez will be wary of losing too much experience against a Bosnia-Herzegovina side that will be desperate for three points.

Portugal's early qualification will give the recently-appointed head coach the licence to experiment in their final three games in the section, though, as he runs through his plans for Euro 2024.

Portugal possible starting lineup: Costa; Semedo, Inacio, Dias, Dalot; Vitinha, R Neves, Fernandes; Felix, Ramos, Jota body check tags ::
