Preston North End striker Kevin Davies has revealed that he expected Wolverhampton Wanderers to be clear at the top of the League One table.
Wolves host Preston on Saturday with just two points separating the sides, and Davies has admitted that the Deepdale outfit are confident of picking up a result at Molineux.
The 36-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "I probably expected Wolves to be a few points clear at the top of the table by now, but that hasn't happened.
"We will go there confident because we have been playing really well away from home. We have one of the best away records in our division. It should be a fantastic game for the clubs."
Davies has made 27 appearances for Preston since joining the club during the summer.
