Preston North End boss Simon Grayson has insisted that his side need to learn from their mistakes to improve their position in the Championship.
Preston fell to a 2-1 defeat to Brentford at Griffin Park, despite taking the lead through Daniel Johnson, as second-half strikes from Lasse Vibe and Marco Djuricin fired the Bees to the win.
Grayson told BBC Sport: "We stopped doing the good things we'd been doing before the break and when their second goal went in a few of our players looked like the game was over.
"We need to learn from that because in this division the quality is greater and the margin for error smaller.
"If you want to win you have to do better at the ugly side of the game. It's a lesson and one we will have to learn from quickly."
Preston dropped into the bottom three into 22nd place in the Championship as a result of their defeat.
