Bristol City have held Preston North End to a 1-1 draw at Deepdale in the Championship this evening.
Preston had an early shout turned down for a penalty when Joe Garner went down inside the area from a free kick delivery, but the referee waved away the appeals from the home side.
The visitors were forced into an early change when Steve Cotterill replaced Nathan Baker with Derrick Williams.
Samir Carruthers went close for the visitors on 37 minutes with a left-footed effort that flashed past the post, but neither side created anything too clear cut in the opening exchanges.
PNE took the lead five minutes into the second half when Neil Kilkenny let fly from around 25 yards.
Bristol responded through Aaron Wilbraham, and the ex-Crystal Palace man forced a save from the goalkeeper five minutes after the opener before Preston eventually cleared the danger.
Kilkenny then played in Stevie May but the ex-Sheffield Wednesday striker could only fire wide from outside the box with just over 10 minutes remaining.
However, Bristol were back in when Wilbraham levelled things up with a close-range header.
