Burnley have expressed an interest in signing Preston North End midfielder Ben Pearson, according to a report.
The 23-year-old has impressed this season, making 18 league appearances and helping the Lilywhites to ninth in the Championship table, three points from the playoffs.
Pearson came through the ranks at Manchester United and spent time on loan at Barnsley before joining Preston permanently in January 2016.
According to the Daily Mail, Clarets boss Sean Dyche is interested in Pearson and believes that he can get the best out of the Oldham-born player.
The report cites Dyche's previous experience and success with former United academy players Chris Eagles and Michael Keane, the latter moving to Everton for a fee which could rise to £30m.
Burnley currently sit seventh in the Premier League table.
