Paris Saint-Germain appear well on track to take an outright lead at the top of the Ligue 1 table after establishing a commanding 3-0 half-time advantage over Lorient at Parc des Princes.
Lucas Moura gave the hosts a third-minute advantage and quickfire goals from Jeremy Menez and Edinson Cavani just prior to the interval put PSG firmly in control of the contest.
The hosts found themselves on the back foot in the very early stages, but launched a quick break which resulted in their opener, as Moura volleyed home from Lucas Digne's chipped pass.
Lorient were unsettled by an enforced double substitution midway through the half, as both goalkeeper Fabien Audard and forward Jeremie Aliadiere had to leave the field due to respective injuries.
Replacement keeper Baptiste Reynet was beaten within 10 minutes of entering the action, as Menez converted from Marco Verratti's square pass, moments after having a shot cleared off the line.
Verratti was again the provider as Cavani added to the scores on 43 minutes, meeting the Italian's cross to head beyond Reynet for his fifth goal in his last four outings.
Victory tonight will send Laurent Blanc's side three points clear of Monaco at the Ligue 1 summit.
